How to Change Keyboard Layout In iPhone and iPod Touch With iOS 4.X

By default settings, iPhone and iPod Touch with IOS 4.0 and above come with a QWERTY keyboard of U.S. International PC layout. But if you are one of those using QWERTZ or AZERTY layout in your PC and would like to have the same in your iPod / iPhone, go ahead and follow these simple steps:

1. In the home screen, click “Settings” –>“General”.

2. Click “Keyboard”—> “International Keyboards”.

3. In the Keyboards section, you can choose language including “English (U.S.), German, English (U.K.)”.

4. You can then choose Software Keyboard Layout including QWERTY, AZERTY, and QWERTZ. You also have option to choose Hardware Keyboard Layout like U.S., Dvorak, U.S. International – PC, and U.S. Extended.

To add a new keyboard in different languages, you need to click on “Add New Keyboard..”. You can then choose from several new keyboard languages like Arabic, Bulgarian, Catalan, Cherokee, Chinese etc.
